Support Police in our Public Schools
Ward 4 City Councillor Mark McKenzie is speaking out after a reported spike in youth-related crimes. Windsor Police announced that Youth Crime was up 27% in 2023, and Windsor Police Chief Jason Bellaire agreed that police need to work with schools, and other partners.
Children must be reached out to at an early age, because by the time they’re 17 or 18 years old, it’s too late. Some of these children lack a proper role model at home, and police officers can be a good role model that children will look up to.
Mark McKenzie asked Windsor City Council to support a motion to have the city send a letter to the Greater Essex County District School Board, encouraging them to work more collaboratively with Police.
SHOW YOUR SUPPORT BY SIGNING MY PETITION, DEMANDING THAT OUR SCHOOLS FOSTER A POSITIVE WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH POLICE.
